The apartment was well furnished and decorated to a high standard and has everything you need, and a good size to boot. Fresh flowers, bread, milk and butter on arrival is a nice touch. Barton Manor and its apartments are gated so it's nice and secure too. Great location for exploring West Sussex, Pagham beach is only a mile away and is nice and quiet, lots of lovely places to visit, Chichester, Arundel, the Witterings, Petworth to name just a few, also only an hour away from Brighton. There are quite a few places to eat very close by, the Lamb pub is literally a stone’s throw away along with the Lion pub a bit further around the corner, both very good for food and drink and being walking distance is ideal, a bit further out about three miles is the walnut tree pub which was one of our picks of the holiday excellent food and welcoming staff. On the whole our stay at Barton Manor was a pleasant one and well worth a visit.

We had a great stay at Nigel and Sara’s place. The flat was well equipped, spacious and very clean. The beds in particular were very comfortable. Nigel had left some breakfast items when we checked in and that was very helpful. They were communicative throughout. We had an issue with the hob not working properly. They endured it was replaced promptly even though it was a bank holiday! Really appreciated that. The location overall is great to explore the entire West Sussex region. We would definitely recommend it and would love to be back someday! Thanks Sara and Nigel.

We were given a very warm welcome and this set the tone for our visit. The apartment is on a lovely, quiet avenue. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The beach is either a peaceful 15-20 minute walk or a few minutes drive away. The Lamb Inn was a great option for food. There are also two other pubs nearby. Two express supermarkets are very close, some bigger supermarkets in the area you can drive to if needed. There are lots of attractions 15-45 minutes away: Chichester, a Roman Palace, Portsmouth Historical Dockyard, Arundel, and Petworth and Slindon from the National Trust. A day trip to Brighton is possible also. We checked TripAdvisor for the best options - there are more. Would love to go back, go inside the Mary Rose ship in Portsmouth and maybe take a day trip to the Isle of Wight.

We would most definitely recommend this fabulous apartment and would stay there again. It is spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable and the quiet location enabled us to sleep well. Sara had left some groceries, flowers and chocolates which was such a kind thought.

If you are looking for 5 star accommodation and attention to detail look no further. From booking to checkout, service and accommodation was second to none. Both Sara and Nigel, hosts, went above and beyond to make our experience of their services and stay, the best experience ever. The accommodation, furnishings, facilities and thoughtful touches were exceptional. Very very homely, luxury soft furnishings, fully equipped kitchen and beautiful, tranquil setting. If you are looking for luxury, reasonably priced places to stay in Bognor, look no further than Barton Manor.. The accommodation and location is exceptional and all within walking distance to local pubs, offering great food. I would not hesitate to recommend Barton Manor and the hosts hospitality, you will not be disappointed if you use their services. We will definitely be booking a return visit, can't wait to go back.

Apartment 9 is modern, spacious and beautifully decorated. It is located on a quiet, gated property in a peaceful setting with gardens, flowers and a fountain. We found it very relaxing, and our hosts were wonderful! They provided bread, eggs, butter, milk and jam for our first breakfast, and freshly cut flowers were in a lovely vase on the kitchen table. Sara's apartment is just as described and is very comfortable. It is ideally situated for anyone wanting to visit Bognor Regis or Chichester. We were very grateful for the supplies (milk, bread and butter) that Sara left and the chocolate! Communication with Sara and Nigel was very easy and very quick. I particularly liked how quiet it was due to being down a private road.

We had an amazing trip away for the bank holiday weekend. Sara and her husband were so friendly and welcoming and straight away we felt at home. The house has everything we needed for a weekend away. We walked to the closest beach one of the days which was lovely and quiet I would definitely recommend this. We also went into Chichester for the day. Sara gave me directions to the beach and recommended several places for us to eat. The house was so clean beds were comfortable and we will definitely be returning next year. Thankyou Sara!

Sara and Nigel meet us with the keys when we arrived, they showed us around the spotlessly clean house and even left us with a lovely welcome pack included everything we needed for breakfast. they were very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and gave us some good tips on places to eat. Sara and Nigel could not have been better hosts, and their house lived up to all expectations. They met us on arrival, with many useful recommendations for local food, attractions and beaches, which all were as good as described. The house was fantastic for us (two couples and two kids) and the garden was a great place to hang out in the evenings when the kids had gone to bed. Pagham is a lovely village with four nice pubs, and with Bognor, Arundel and Chichester all within 20 minutes drive plenty of places to visit. Pagham beach is very close and great, and we also went to Bognor beach, which was really easy to park at and not that crowded. Will definitely look to return here in the future.

This really is one of the best finds I've had using Airbnb. Starting with a warm welcome from the delightful hosts, the home is extremely well appointed and beautifully decorated in a quiet and classy location. The amenities in the house are fabulous and the garden is a simple and private place to spend time, listening to all the birdsong at breakfast or enjoying a bbq and a glass of something cold in the evening. It's only a short walk for groceries, take aways and a variety of pubs. Tremendous from start to finish and a huge thank you to our hosts Sara and Nigel. Really looking forward to enjoying ourselves here again soon.

Communication was great from the start and it was clear that Sara and Nigel have put a lot of love and care into the Gatehouse. The welcome was warm and we especially appreciated the welcome pack and the bottle of prosecco on arrival! The house is spacious, well equipped and supremely comfortable (very good beds and lovely linen). We had a few questions in the first few days and Sara was helpful and accommodating. The house sits in a private drive, so the area is quiet (apart from the seagulls!) and very well situated for long walks across Pagham harbour nature reserve and drives to Amberley, Arundel, Bosham, Chichester, Bognor and Littlehampton. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in lovely West Sussex.

A five star stay at a five star home! This is not just a holiday let but a beautiful home. From the moment I contacted Sara with questions before I even booked she responded immediately and answered all subsequent queries with positive replies. She even went out to buy new hairdryers to accommodate 5 ladies. The quality of fittings, beds and bedding along with towels were of the highest standard. Located at the end of a private lane with a fully enclosed private rear garden along with ample secure parking the area is quiet and tranquil. I can't recommend the home and hosts highly enough. We felt truly welcome and relaxed the moment we arrived and will definitely be returning. We just need to agree on when! Thank you Sara and Nigel X

We have just returned from a lovely 2 week stay at the Gatehouse. Sara and Nigel are perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them and the house is exactly as advertised. We received a really warm welcome and were given lots of tips on what to do and see in the surrounding area during our stay.. In short there is absolutely loads to do - we went to beautiful beaches, toured Arundel Castle, enjoyed wine tasting at Tinwood Estate, walked along Birling Gap to Beachy Head and even spent one morning doing a beekeeping experience! A very enjoyable trip and we would highly recommend a stay in Sara and Nigel’s Gatehouse.

We spent 4 nights at the Gatehouse and had a fab time. The Gatehouse is in a perfect location, about 20 minutes walk to beautiful Pagham beach and harbour (apparently great for bird watchers...). Easy to visit all the local attractions (Arundel Castle, etc) and some very interesting local history. There was more than enough space for the 4 of us, and would easily have accommodated more in the house, which is at the end of a very nice quiet lane on a gated plot - with the Lamb Inn at the other end. The main bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, my wife and I stayed upstairs in the master bedroom and our friends were in the downstairs bedroom - handy if anyone has problems with stairs - due to mobility (or alcohol!). Good wifi and SkyQ in the comfy lounge were a bonus. Sara and Nigel couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and were always available to help - thanks!

Wonderful cottage in Pagham. The house is close to the beach and a short walk to pubs and local store, yet very peaceful (at the end of a cul-de sac) It’s a charming area. The house is very modern and deceptively spacious inside with super comfy modern beds and fluffy towels. Great wi-if and TV in every room . Plenty of storage space and an enclosed back garden. It has an electric gate so felt very safe too. Sara was very friendly and helpful . I would thoroughly recommend .

The Gatehouse is a wonderful property, high quality and modern yet cosy. Located in a quiet lane, it is well located for trips to Pagham beach and for visiting places in the South Downs. We had a great day out visiting Arundel’s town and castle which is a must if you have never been. There are local stores nearby and some nice pubs to eat at. Our host was very helpful and welcoming. We were left some basic supplies which was a very nice touch and I would recommend a stay at The Gatehouse to anyone wishing to visit this part of the country. You will not be disappointed!

I stayed at Sara’s luxurious 2-bedroom apartment with my son and daughter as our base when visiting the beautiful Southdowns. It was such a nice place to come back to everyday. The apartment is brand new, very spacious, decorated luxuriously with high quality furniture, fittings and beddings. The beds were very comfortable and warm. We liked it that no shoes are allowed in the apartment hence it was very clean throughout. The rain forest showers were nice and water was plenty hot enough. The modern kitchen is fully fitted so great for those who like to cook. Washer/dryer worked well and was very handy because we stayed for over a week. The smart tv a wonderful thing to have when we felt like a relaxing evening in. Sara’s place is set in a beautiful ground, in a lovely, small but super convenient area. Good pubs, a good Chinese takeaway, convenience store, a tea room, Tesco, co-op, the beach, all within walking distance. Sara and Nigel are both very lovely, friendly and understanding people, and made our stay extra comfortable. They’re proud of the area they live in and always keen to explain the history of their place, the surrounding areas and always have good recommendations on restaurants. I suggest guests who stay there take their recommendations and you won’t go wrong! I highly recommend Sara’s place. There’s so much to see and do in beautiful Southdowns. Would love to stay with Sara again when we next visit the Southdowns.

Sara and Nigel were the perfect hosts and provided a spotless, modern and tasteful apartment, that was very well equipped. Sara was there to greet us and provide advice on the locality. The little extra provisions offered a nice touch. There is lots to do around Chichester, we enjoyed a whole day at the Weald and Downland open air museum. Absolutely first class service, accommodation and area. If you are planning on visiting Bognor I recommend Barton Manor, you'll be hard pushed to find anywhere better. The property was exceptionally clean, very plush soft furnishings and well equipped kitchen. Sara and Nigel, hosts, have very good local knowledge and their attention to detail is second to none. The whole experience from booking to checkout was just handled so professionally, we had an amazing time thanks to Sara and Nigel efforts. What a delight in every way. Sara greeted us in person and had generously welcomed us to Barton Manor with an array of thoughtful details; fresh flowers, pantry essentials and chocolates on our pillows to name a few. Our apartment was immaculate throughout! Every amenity imaginable, private parking and dreamy quiet. We chose this area specifically for its proximity to Goodwood and our trips back and forth to the venue were a traffic-free 12 minutes along country roads. Hugely, Highly and Happily Recommended!!!
